Expanded PT Infrastructure in Tarneit and Hoppers

The new West Tarneit Station is now open- just one part of the Victorian Labor Government's PT infrastructure investments making it easier to travel to, from and around Tarneit and Hoppers.

New timetables for parts of the rail network went live recently, delivering 415 additional weekly services and new connections- like 10 extra dedicated trains on the Wyndham Vale line.

We’re also continuing to build on and expand our bus network- adding more than 1,100 weekly services to the local Tarneit bus network. The new Route 186 bus will operate daily services between Tarneit Station and West Tarneit Station via Dohertys Road, improving connections for communities north of the station.

For residents further south, the existing Route 182 from Tarneit Station to Werribee Station will run more frequently and will also travel via the new West Tarneit Station.

In December 2025, we delivered bus routes 154 & 194 and upgraded Route 153, delivering more than 1,500 new weekly trips- giving our community better access to buses, trains, schools, jobs and shopping. That’s on top of the extended operating hours and added 470 extra weekly trips across routes 170, 180, 190 & 192.

That's not all: PT is also free for kids under 18 with a Youth Myki, and half-price for everyone else, every day, until 1st of January 2027.
