West Tarneit Station now Open!
On the 13th of September, the brand-new West Tarneit Station opened! Sitting on the corner of Leakes and Davis roads, the station supports 689 services, increases passenger capacity and decreases pressure on the lines.
West Tarneit Station features a a four-bay bus interchange and more than 1,100 additional services added to the local Tarneit bus network, providing more frequent and convenient connections.
Buses
In December last year, we introduced new bus routes 154 and 194, and also upgraded route 153, adding an additional 1,500 weekly trips across the three lines.
Those additional services built upon changes made in July last year, when the Victorian Labor Government extended operating hours and added extra weekly trips across routes 170, 180, 190 and 192.
Locals will remember a time when buses in the area were coming approximately every 40 minutes.
Thanks to the Carroll Labor Government, frequency has increased and times are around every 20 minutes- making it easier for our community in the west to get to trains, schools, jobs, shopping and more.
Extra Train Services
The Wyndham Vale line now has 10 extra dedicated trains with the new timetable.
Larger nine-car VLocity trains are also running to Wyndham Vale each week, during AM and PM peak hours. This increases capacity by 50% and create space for more than 12,000 extra passengers.
Victorian Labor will always invest in the critical transport infrastructure needed for Tarneit and Hoppers.
Youth Myki & Half-Price PT
PT is also free for kids under 18 with a Youth Myki, and half-price for everyone else, every day, until 1st of January 2027.
